**UPDATED RULES**

NorthStar of GIS presents the “Where I Belong” Art Contest, exploring relationships between artists, environments, and efforts to advance racial equity.

NorthStar of GIS is excited to announce the “Where I Belong” Digital Art Contest, aimed at amplifying the voices of artists who focus on racial justice, equity, and belonging. We invite you to submit digital copies of your artwork to win cash prizes and be featured in our digital gallery during the NorthStar of GIS Homecoming event.

DISCLAIMER

Please do not mail your original work. We are looking for digital copies, ideally ready for reproduction.

Artwork Theme

The theme, “Where I Belong,” encourages artists to explore their relationship with various environments—natural landscapes, cultural spaces, or urban settings—and how these intersect with themes of race, ethnicity, and justice. We are particularly interested in artwork that celebrates the beauty and resilience of Black communities in the face of societal and environmental challenges.

Cash Prizes

  • Platinum: $500
  • Gold: $300
  • Silver: $200

The winning artworks will be selected based on how well they align with our mission of promoting racial justice and equity.

All submitted artworks will have the opportunity to be showcased in a digital gallery during the NorthStar of GIS Homecoming event. The gallery will serve as a platform to highlight the importance of Black experiences, opportunities, and prosperity as empowering tools for liberation.
